CLACK Softener + Aplos Angel Direct Flow Water Filter

Soft water through the whole house and purified water at the kitchen tap, with no storage tank under the sink. The CLACK cabinet softener deals with limescale everywhere, and the Aplos Angel direct flow reverse osmosis system makes drinking water as you draw it, with a built in pump. The price includes both systems, the tap and the installation.

Choose the standard version, or the version with a mineral filter fitted after the membrane, which puts calcium and magnesium back into the water for a rounder taste.

The CLACK cabinet water softener

A compact cabinet softener built around the CLACK control valve, a premium valve that has been in the industry for 20 years and has a reputation for reliability. It meters your water use and only regenerates when it needs to, which keeps salt use down. It removes 100% of the limescale from the water coming into the house, so every tap, shower, appliance and the heating system downstream is protected.

The Aplos Angel direct flow reverse osmosis system

• No storage tank. Water is purified the moment you open the tap, so nothing sits under the sink and the cupboard stays usable
• Built in pump, rated at 600 gallons a day, up to 90 litres an hour, so it fills a glass at tap speed
• Removes heavy metals, chlorine, bacteria, viruses, fluoride, lead and microplastics
• LED status indicators, and filters you can swap yourself
• 374 mm high, 155 mm wide, 413 mm deep. Odourless, BPA free construction

Before we install

To keep the visit quick and tidy, please have the following ready:

• A fixed, compliant electrical socket near where the softener will go, and a standard socket under the sink for the pump. We do not carry out electrical work
• A wastewater outlet within about 60 cm of the softener
• We may drill a small hole through the back wall for a safety overflow

Installation is included for addresses in Ireland. Once you order we text you a date and time, and if it does not suit, text back and we will move it.

Questions

Why tankless rather than a tank system?

A tank system makes water slowly and stores it. A direct flow system makes it on demand, so it is always fresh, the flow is faster, and the unit takes a fraction of the space. The trade is that it needs a power socket for the pump.

Should I add the mineral filter?

If you find pure reverse osmosis water tastes flat, yes. It adds a small amount of calcium and magnesium for taste, nowhere near enough to scale a kettle. If you are happy with plain purified water, the standard version is the one.
