CLACK Water Softener + Ecosoft CROSS MAX Bundle

Soft water through the whole house and purified water at the kitchen tap, with no storage tank under the sink. The CLACK cabinet softener deals with limescale everywhere, and the Ecosoft CROSS MAX makes drinking water on demand through an 800 GPD membrane with its own pump. The price includes both systems, the tap and the installation.

Why both, not one

A softener and a drinking water filter do different jobs. The softener works on the incoming main and protects everything after it: the boiler, the washing machine, the dishwasher, the showers and the taps. It does not purify. A reverse osmosis system does the opposite. It makes very pure water, but only at one tap. Fitted together, the whole house is protected and the water you drink is genuinely clean.

The CLACK cabinet water softener

A compact cabinet softener built around the CLACK control valve, a premium valve that has been in the industry for 20 years and has a reputation for reliability. It meters your water use and only regenerates when it needs to, which keeps salt use down. It removes 100% of the limescale from the water coming into the house, so every tap, shower, appliance and the heating system downstream is protected.

The Ecosoft CROSS MAX

• 800 GPD membrane at 2 litres a minute, which keeps up with normal kitchen use rather than trickling
• No storage tank. Water is purified the moment you open the tap, and the cupboard stays usable
• Reduces PFAS, chlorine and heavy metals along with the dissolved minerals that cause scale
• 67% recovery rate, so roughly two thirds of the water going in reaches your glass
• Built in booster pump, works from 1 bar inlet pressure
• Leak sensor and automatic shut off after 10 minutes of continuous running
• Flushes the membrane after every use and after 24 hours idle
• Two cartridges, changed by hand in under five minutes, rated at 2,000 litres, about a year of normal use
• 304 mm high, 198 mm wide, 191 mm deep, 6 kg. Needs about 400 x 250 x 250 mm of cupboard space

Before we install

• A fixed, compliant electrical socket near where the softener will go, and a standard 230V socket under the sink for the CROSS MAX. We do not carry out electrical work
• A wastewater outlet within about 60 cm of the softener
• We may drill a small hole through the back wall for a safety overflow
• Inlet pressure for the CROSS MAX should be between 1 and 4 bar, 3.5 bar is ideal. Above 4 bar a pressure reducing valve is needed to keep the warranty valid
• Granite, quartz or composite worktops without a spare tap hole need core drilling, which we quote separately

Installation is included for addresses in Ireland. Once you order we text you a date and time, and if it does not suit, text back and we will move it.

Questions

Does the CROSS MAX add minerals back?

No. It produces pure water at 5 to 15 mg/L TDS with no mineral stage. If you would prefer calcium put back for taste, look at the CROSS 90 Balance bundle.

Will it work with low water pressure?

Yes. The built in pump means it runs from 1 bar upwards.

How often do the cartridges need changing?

Both are rated at 2,000 litres, typically about a year. The indicator on the unit tells you when, and the change needs no tools.
